Housing and Development Services, Inc. announced its 20th anniversary as the leading technology and services solution provider in the affordable housing marketplace on our anniversary date June 18, 2018. Our celebrations continued during our Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration held on Wednesday, January 23rd. Each year the HDS companies, Housing and Development Software and eHousingPlus, and including the 501 (c) 3 HDS Foundation to honor the achievements of our employees in their milestone years of service to HDS.
Cristina Miranda Gilson, the company’s founder and CEO addressed the group sharing our beginnings and her vision for the organization. “ We are unique in our tenure, you are a tribute to our success.“ Two great examples of which are our pioneer and principals of eHousingPlus, Paloma Miranda and Patt Denihan, who this year celebrated their 20th alongside Cristina. Each shared great memories and their appreciation to Cristina’s vision and to the dedication of all HDS staff.
Cristina Miranda Gilson, Paloma Miranda, and Patt Denihan were all part of the journey from the beginning. The celebration included tributes to each of them and their accomplishments for the company over the past 20 years. “The celebration today is about the 20 years of HDS,” pronounced Cristina, as she elaborated on how HDS has become the great company that it is today, “To me we are celebrating the twenty years of this company and all of the people that make us great, and also looking at what is going to come ahead. We have some great things that are happening and unbelievable opportunities. Our clients – their purpose and their mission – it’s why we are here.” She also spoke a bit about HDS NextGen, “Rebuilt from the ground up, our solutions are being designed to drive performance up to new heights. We do not just want to keep up with today’s needs but are driving to be two or three steps ahead of what is coming next.” The NextGeneration is being developed utilizing the latest web architecture and technologies. Users will be able to set up alerts, workflow, rules, define roles, configure security, create reports, map and sync applications and capture the data starting with the multiple phases of your business. The HDS Next Generation brings the ease of achieving the process change and ease of use into the forefront. Our approach is to provide flexibility in the solution with flexibility in integration points to ensure change over time. We built a system that will meet your needs today and for the future.
It was a day of festivities for HDS Companies that included much team building and outright fun! A slideshow commemorating company events of the past twenty years is here being shared with you for your enjoyment.
HDS began operations in 1998, when Cristina Miranda Gilson, the company’s founder and CEO, paved the way for what would be its first product, HDS Grant Management. Released as the first Allocation and Federal Grant tracking and management system that interfaced into HUD’s IDIS system, it became the foundation for what quickly emerged into the adjoining business lines. This included the HDS Single Family Management, HDS Section 8 Contract Administration, HDS MultiFamily Origination, HDS MultiFamily Compliance and Asset Management, HDS Master Servicing and HDS Loan Servicing Systems. These B2B family systems evolved and expanded, providing an array of modules, features and tools to provide the daily management, tracking, compliance and reporting activities for corresponding business divisions within the affordable housing and community development industry. HDS further expanded its operations by establishing partnerships to provide Program Administration and Compliance services under the trade name of eHousingPlus. This included Single Family MRB, TBA, MBS, Down Payment Assistance Initiatives including HOME, HHF, SHIP and others, Mortgage Credit Certificate Programs and Section 8 Baseline Operations to assist incoming Contract Administrators. In 2008, HDS’s founder also established The HDS Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit as a way for the company to give back.
