HDS Companies’ eHousingPlus is a Proud Sponsor of the 2022 Florida ALHFA Annual Educational Conference
The Florida Association of Local Housing Finance Authorities (FLALHFA) will host the 2022 Florida ALHFA Annual Educational Conference from Wednesday, July 6th through Saturday, July 9th at The Westin Sarasota.
We have been a long-standing member and supporter of FLALHFA. This year, we are sponsoring the Conference at the Platinum Level. We feel that it is vital to engage in the constant state of the markets dialogue, actively participating in affordable housing programs and activities and sharing best practices and market knowledge with our partners. Participating in the Florida ALHFA Annual Educational Conference provides first-hand insights into adequate housing and development practices to local Florida government affordable housing, community, and economic development professionals, as well as unparalleled opportunities to interact in person with government practitioners, financial experts, and professional program-staff at all levels.
This year’s Conference will be historic for us as our Mentor, Leader, and Friend Patt Denihan is celebrated and honored by the Florida ALHFA, making her the recipient of the 2022 Pillars of Housing Award. This is the highest honor given by the organization, established in 1989 as a Florida nonprofit corporation consisting of private and public professionals dedicated to financing affordable single-family and multi-family housing in the State of Florida. The award will be presented posthumously to her family on Friday, July 8th.
Our very own Sue Denihan, Vice President at eHousingPlus, has been bestowed with the privilege and responsibility of Co-Moderating the Single-Family Panel, Real-World Solutions to Reinvent Your Program. Sue will be joined by Co-Moderator Karmen Lemberg, Director of Homeownership Programs and Operations with the HFA of Pinellas County.
Subject Matter Experts joining Karmen and Sue on the Single-Family Panel include:
- Katie Coleman, Director of Communications, Nevada Rural Housing Authority
- Dre Thompson, CEO of the Tucson industrial Development Authority
- Cheryl Howell, Director Affordable Housing Services, Hillsborough County, Florida
- Rhonda Mitchell, Homeownership Program Director, Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation
Katie Coleman will discuss how to reinvent your HFA organization by thinking outside the box. Cheryl Howell and Dre Thompson will discuss their strategies, experiences, and successes in developing relationships with external stakeholders to help fund HFA DPA programs that benefit both the HFA and the partnering organization. Rhonda Mitchell possesses an innate capacity to weigh all factors and serve everyone equitably. She excels at keeping lenders interested and engaged in the SETH program. These are just a few subjects that will be discussed during this fascinating discussion.
